Fiat & Peugeot-Citroen Merging?

Fiat & Peugeot-Citroen Merging?

Fiat & Peugeot-Citroen Merging?

Whoa, what? Are they serious? The news out of Europe is that Fiat and Peugeot/Citroen are thinking about merging? Most of the merger talk has been all in the US, mainly about who is going to marry Chrysler, but this one has come out of nowhere.

Fiat’s CEO, Sergio Marchionne, said that ” … the company would need to find another automotive partner to ensure the company’s survival in light of the recent economic downturn.” Hm, OK, that’s showing some foresight on his part, and also let’s you know just how deep in this mess we’re all in.

It seems that things are far enough along that political leaders in both France and Italy have held discussions on the matter. This, of course would be a necessary step, since both the Italian and French governments are part owners of Fiat and PSA (the conglomerate that contains Peugeot-Citroen).

The marriage isn’t without precedent, since the companies have worked together in the past such as the recent Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Jumper and Fiat Ducato vans. Also, if the merger takes place, the resulting company would be the fourth largest automaker in the world, with an output rivaling Volkswagen and Renault-Nissan.

Aston Martin Offers Upgrade Packages for 4.3-liter V8 Vantage Owners

Aston Martin Offers Upgrade Packages for 4.3-liter V8 Vantage Owners

Aston Martin Offers Upgrade Packages for 4.3-liter V8 Vantage Owners
Aston Martin Offers Upgrade Packages for 4.3-liter V8 Vantage Owners

When Aston Martin released the hugely popular V8 Vantage in 2006, they fitted it with a 4.3-liter V8 and 380 horsepower. This wasn’t enough for many people, since the Vantage’s competitors such as the Porsche 911 Turbo and Audi R8 were easily faster. Finally AM decided to up the ante for the 2009 V8 Vantage and bore out the engine to 4.7 liters, add a high-performance Sports Package and tighten the chassis, making the Vantage a real kick-in-the-nuts to Porsche and Audi.

Not wanting to leave the 2006-2008 V8 Vantage owners behind in their 380 HP weenie-mobiles, Aston Martin created an upgrade package allowing them to increase their horsepower to 400, add around 7 ftlbs of torque, and hit a slightly higher top speed of 177 mph.

All of this is done through a new air intake system originally designed for the DBS which opens a valve at 5500 RPM, letting more air in and allowing for more power. The engine computer has also been tweaked to optimize ignition timing and allow for a higher octane fuel to be used.

Additionally, due to the popularity of the new Sport Pack option on the 2009 Vantage, Aston Martin is allowing previous owners to retrofit a Sport Pack onto their older car. The Sport Pack increases handling performance with upgraded springs and Bilstein dampers, and adds the sexy new lightweight 5-spoke alloy wheels.

Still not as quick as the 2009 V8 Vantage, and you still can’t get the excellent Sport/Comfort mode in the Sportshift 2009s, but it’s definitely an upgrade that I hope many will take. Pricing has not yet been announced, but don’t expect it to be cheap.

WRC: Subaru Cancels World Rally Program

WRC: Subaru Cancels World Rally Program

WRC: Subaru Cancels World Rally Program

That’s a right nice Merry Christmas for Petter Solbereg & Chris Atkinson, Subaru just fired them … OK, not fired them, but it just recently came out that Subaru has decided to not compete in the WRC (the World Rally Championship) any longer.

They site the usual reasons these days: World economic downturn.

But there’s more to it than meets the eye. See what that is, after the jump.

Yes, racing is expensive, and yes, there is suddenly a lot more money to around today than there was a few months ago (I thought banks were supposed to be good with money?), but I think Subaru’s departure has more to do than just a lack of funds.

I think it’s a lot closer to what Honda recently went through. Sure, it has a lot to do with balance sheets, but also look at it this way: Subaru hasn’t won a championship since Solberg’s in 03 (I think) and they haven’t won so much as a stage since something like 05 or 06. Would you want to sink in million of dollars to, in effect, not win? Didn’t think so.

Also, consider that the FIA just said that as of next year, the WRC will run cars built to new rules (what’s generically referred to as Spec 2000). Subaru doesn’t even make a street car that could be used as a basis for a new for 2009 rally car. This put Subaru in the position of having to make some sort of street car, AND turn it into a rally car, all within the next 2 and a half months.

In other words, Subaru suddenly found themselves in the position of having to spend even more money, just to play the game, and probably not even contest for wins any time soon.

So, adios WRC program.

There IS a bright side to all this however.

ProDrive, the folks that used to run the WRC program for the Subaru factory are now free to do other things. ProDrive is owned and run by Dave Richards. Dave Richards has, for a long time, wanted to run his own F1 team. And hey, wouldn’t you know it, Honda has an F1 team - cars, wind tunnel, Cad/Cam computers, the lot - that they’re no longer using, and would be happy to part with for a reasonable fee.

Subaru might be off the stages, but Dave Richards is far from out.

Video of Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Hamann Volcano

Merc’s (oh fine, and McLaren’s, I suppose) SLR supercar is going to be phased out to pave the way for the next uber Merc car (supposedly called SLC, by the way, and it’s gonna have those gullwing doors), but being the classy guys they are, Mercedes has released a bunch of special editions, 722 S Roadster (full gallery here) and Stirling Moss among them, to phase it out in loud, obnoxious, and deliciously exotic style.

Well, the top tuner (oh that is suuch a degrading term, let’s try “aftermarket modifying”) companies are lining up to pay their respects as well, by unleashing their very own take on what the SLR McLaren could be. Hamann’s version is called the “Volcano”, and you can view the video after the jump. We’ll hit you with the specs, pics, and general info on the car in a later post.

American Designer Jason Castriota Moves From Pininfarina To Bertone

American Designer Jason Castriota Moves From Pininfarina To Bertone

American Designer Jason Castriota Moves From Pininfarina To Bertone

This is a rarity: an American car designer working, and working successfully, for an Italian auto design company. And then building on that success by moving from noted design house, to another.

The American in question is Jason Castriota, and his first Italian design house job started at the very top: Pininfarina. The king of the World’s design studios. When your company counts Ferrari as one of its main, and lifelong clients, you’re at the top. While at Carrozziera Pininfarina, Castriota worked on some very impressive projects. The Maserati Birdcage show car as well as the Maserati GranTurismo, Ferrari’s 599 GTB Fiorano, the custom P4/5 and the Rolls-Royce Hyperion one-off, to name a few.

He had planned to open his own studio, but a funny thing happened on the way to the atelier, Bertone snatched him up.

How did House Bertone land him? They “made me an offer I couldn’t refuse”, said Jason Castriota (gotta love this kid).

At only 34, it will be Castriota’s job to lead Bertone into newer, and more lucrative directions. Now is the time, and the perfect opportunity for a talent such as his. He will lead a young design staff, and Bertone, after narrowly dodging bankruptcy, has a lot to prove, both on the show floor, and on the bottom line. Of late, Bertone is, how would I put this, a little on the, eh, barboso side of things. They had taken that folded paper concept about as far as they could (some would say too far) and for quite some time, a lot of their offerings at the Turin show were lackluster.

But now … well, a new and gifted talent at the helm, a young crew on decks, and an old, respected company with something to prove.

Interesting times for all of us.

Daimler Trucks Acquires 10% of Russian Truck Manufacturer Kamaz

Daimler Trucks Acquires 10% of Russian Truck Manufacturer Kamaz

Daimler Trucks Acquires 10% of Russian Truck Manufacturer Kamaz

Ah yeah, this could be fun.

Fun? About one truck biz buying a chunk of another truck biz? How the Hell could that be fun? Look at the picture above. That is one of the Kamaz trucks racing in the Paris-Dakar race. For the uninitiated, Paris-Dakar is about as out there as you can get. Most of the normal off road stuff applies. Rocks, sand, dunes the size of skyscrapers, navigational hazards, cliffs, that sort of thing. But the Paris-Dakar also features such novelties as guerilla factions armed with AKs (abducted and killed two competitors in the mid-80s) and the occasional mine field.

One of those mine fields caught out the factory Kamaz team a few years back. They wandered off course and onto the edge of a WW II era mine field. BOOM! One of the things blew the right rear completely off. I mean the tire, the wheel, the upright, the brake & caliper and the suspension bits - gone. The Kamaz team response? Pull out the spares and carry on. I believe that particular truck finished either 3rd or 4th that year.

So, like I said, fun.

No, there’s no indication the Mercedes will start running their trucks, or some combo Merc/Kamaz, but it does make some interesting possibilities if Mercedes wanted to.

Fun.

The full press release is after the jump.

*New exclusive strategic partnership launched between Daimler AG, the world’s largest truck manufacturer, Kamaz, Russia’s major heavy-duty trucks manufacturer, State Corporation “Russian Technologies” and Troika Dialog, the leading investment company in Russia and the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States)

*

Daimler expands its involvement in Russia as part of the consistent implementation of Daimler Trucks’ Global Excellence Strategy

*

Daimler AG will invest $250 million in Kamaz in December 2008 with a later one-time payment of up to $50 million if business develops favorably

*

Technology transfer and creation of joint projects

is stipulated

Stuttgart/Moscow - On December 12, 2008, Daimler AG, Kamaz, State Corporation “Russian Technologies” and Troika Dialog signed an agreement in Moscow governing the exclusive strategic partnership and outlining the main principles and methods of co-operation between Kamaz shareholders.

Under the terms of the agreement, Daimler will acquire a 10 percent stake in the share capital of Kamaz from Troika Dialog for 250 million USD to be paid in December 2008. Another one-time payment of up to 50 million USD will be due in 2012 subject to successful business performance of Kamaz. Daimler AG will receive a seat on the Board of Directors of Russia’s largest truck manufacturer, furthermore other rights of Daimler being a minority shareholder in Kamaz, as well as its status of the exclusive strategic partner will be governed and secured by the agreement signed today.

Consistent implementation of Daimler Trucks’ Global Excellence Strategy

The cooperation with Kamaz will enable Daimler’s truck division - Daimler Trucks - to enter the Russian volume market and is part of the company’s growth strategy in the BRIC countries. The step is another example of the consistent implementation of the Global Excellence strategy, which Daimler Trucks has been successfully pursuing for the past four years. The strategy’s four pillars are the management of market cycles, operational efficiency, the exploitation of market potential and new markets (particularly new growth markets such as Russia), and future product generations and technologies.

Technology transfer and creation of joint projects

Kamaz and Daimler are aimed at mutually benefitial cooperation in the sphere of technology transfers and a series of joint projects. Daimler Trucks being the exclusive strategic partner will contribute its advanced technologies to Kamaz. The technology transfers encompass various components, including the cab of the second-generation Mercedes-Benz Actros.

Kamaz has production facilities, sales structures, and a good retail network in Russia. As a result, Kamaz will be an excellent partner for the sale and service of Mitsubishi Fuso trucks to Russian customers and will strongly support the market entry of Mitsubishi Fuso. Also conceivable would be joint projects involving Mercedes-Benz buses.

In view of the expected increases in Russian import duties for vehicles, Daimler Trucks’ holding in Kamaz will give Daimler a further strategic advantage.

“Daimler’s strategic involvement strengthens Kamaz and makes our company internationally competitive,” says Sergei Kogogin, General Director of Kamaz.

“I’m very happy about the conclusion of the holding agreement with Kamaz, especially in view of the difficult economic environment we currently face,” says Andreas Renschler, member of the Daimler Board of Management responsible for Daimler Trucks. “It has allowed us to take the first step toward creating a hopefully wider-ranging partnership in which the two companies can share their development, production, and sales expertise.”

Russia is Europe’s largest truck market

Russia has one of the largest regional truck markets in the world, with total sales of more than 154,000 units >6 t in 2007. Despite the current financial and economic crisis, the market is expected to continue to grow over the next few years. Demand will rise particularly in the heavy-duty segment.

Kamaz was transformed into a joint stock company on August 23, 1990. Kamaz vehicles are widely used throughout the CIS and are exported to around 30 countries worldwide. The company is the leading seller of heavy-duty trucks in Russia. Last year the company sold more than 53,000 trucks, posting revenues of 3.8 billion USD and reaching a market share of over 30%. Today, about 25% of its truck production is being exported — mainly to Kazakhstan, the Ukraine, and Asia.

Daimler Trucks sold 1,300 new vehicles in Russia in 2007.In line with this development, Daimler Trucks is expanding its sales and service network in the country and will also increase the number of

Mercedes-Benz service stations in the coming years. Daimler Trucks with its brands Mercedes-Benz, Fuso, and Freightliner is already the leader in the segment for imported pre-owned trucks.

“This Agreement, reached in conditions of a global financial crisis, carries strategic significance for Russia and the Russian truck industry. It gives testament to a high level of trust toward the Russian machine building industry and the economy in general, and to the readiness of Western companies, despite global stagnation and the unfavorable state of affairs, to invest into the Russian Federation,” announced Sergei Chemezov, General Director of the Rostechnology State Corporation and Chairman of the KAMAZ Board of Directors.

“It goes without saying that this is a landmark transaction for all involved parties: Daimler, Rostechnology, Kamaz, and Troika Dialog as well as for the countries that they represent - Russia and Germany”, said Ruben Vardanian, Chairman of the Board and CEO, Troika Dialog Group. “We are very glad that despite the current market conditions the parties were able to close this deal. This partnership will allow Kamaz to bring its business to a new level by utilizing experience, technology and know-how of its exclusive strategic partner - Daimler AG - as well as to increase the shareholder value of Kamaz in the long-term perspective.”

Don’t Worry About Your Prius Batteries

Don’t Worry About Your Prius Batteries

Don’t Worry About Your Prius Batteries

So late last night, I get an email from the Big Boss Man, Chris, about the batteries on the Toyota Prius. The conversation goes something like this:

Chris:

“Want to do a factual/opinion piece on this? It’s a question I’ve heard quite a few times.”

Tony:

“You mean changing out the Prius battery question is one you’ve been hearing?”

Chris:

“More like what happens when the batteries stop recharging. Seems like people think they’ll run out within a few years.”

Tony:

“Ah, sure … really? People think that? Damn … ”

Allow me to put your mind at ease … right after the jump.

This whole issue was prompted by a blog post on Toyota’s Open Road Blog. It seems that some people think that the battery pack on a Prius, or any other hybrid for that matter, has a short shelf life. They don’t, but like everything else in the known universe, they DO have a given lifespan.

Normally, batteries are fairly simple devices, especially the simple lead/acid ones, like the kind in your flashlight and Prius. Sure, they will eventually wear out, but the key to maintaining a long life for most simple batteries is to make sure they’re fully charged when you idle them. With the battery in your car, or the batteries in a Prius, this isn’t a problem, because the cars alternator & charging system makes sure the battery is fully charged up when you park the car for the night.

What kills a lead/acid battery is letting it rest when it’s partially charged, or, more normally, letting it sit. That’s why, when you find that Ferrari GTO in the barn for $500, it won’t turn over. The battery has gone flat. You get out the jumper cables, and of course the car will fire up and run, cause it’s firing from the alternator at that point.

If you shut the car off, it won’t start again. Why? The battery won’t hold a charge.

Even with a car as exotic as a GTO, the answer is simple: You go down to the nearest Shucks/Kragen/auto parts store and get the right kind of 12 volt battery, swap it out with the old one like you would a light bulb, and your on your way.

Of course, this procedure is not the same for Toyota’s Prius.

There’s a BUNCH of batteries in there, and they’re largely inaccessible to mere mortals (you better have a lift for the car etc etc etc). The good news is that the batteries are a really robust part of the whole system, and, as you would expect, Toyota has been keeping track of all the Prius out there to see how they’re doing int he real world.

There’s more than a few 1st gen Prius that are in the quarter million mile club, that are still running like trains, and there’s even a Gen 1 Prius taxi in Victoria B.C. that’s over 300,000 with no battery related problems. And just in case you’re interested, the record is over 400,000 miles for a Prius.

So really, the batteries in a hybrid are a pretty strong link in the chain. The stuff that will wear out is the stuff that has always worn out, things like head gaskets and transaxels and tires and brakes and whatnot.

Don’t worry about the batteries.

Here’s the full scoop from Toyota’s Jon F. Thompson.

You probably know that we’ve been selling our Prius hybrid here in the U.S. since 2001. So let’s do the mileage math: At an average of 15,000 miles per year for seven years, that suggests that these 2001 Priuses could have a bit more than 100,000 miles on them. Some of them probably have many fewer miles. But some of them undoubtedly have seen many more miles scroll past their odometers.

Which of course raises a question in which owners of these cars are deeply interested: What happens when the battery packs that are fundamental elements of the Prius package no longer can store electrical power?

Make no mistake, batteries do, in non-technical terms, wear out. What happens is that they no longer can maintain the electrical charge that is essential to their ability to supply electrical power. But having changed countless batteries in flashlights and other devices, you already know that, right?

It is a fact that some of our first-generation Priuses are still going strong with more than 200,000 miles on their original batteries. A couple of cars doing taxi service in Victoria, British Columbia reportedly have seen 300,000 miles and in one case, 400,000 miles on the original batteries with what’s described as “very few maintenance issues.”

This is not to suggest, mind you, that anyone else will see these kinds of miles on their Prius batteries. It is only to suggest that fears of premature battery failure probably are unwarranted.

That said, there will come a time when replacement of the car’s batteries will be required. So you should know that first of all, Prius batteries are warranted for 10 years or150,000 miles in California-compliance states and eight years or 100,000 miles in non-California compliant states.

And you also should know that the battery packs are available from any Toyota dealer. The MSRP for a battery pack for a first-generation Prius is $2,299, while the MSRP for the battery pack for the second-generation cars, those from the 2004-2008 model-years, is $2,588. This reflects three price reductions for the first-generation battery since it was introduced and two price reductions for the second-generation battery. Naturally, labor charges, which are set by each dealer, as well as possible charges from ancillary parts that could be required, should be added to that figure. Finally, we assume responsibility for recycling all of our hybrid batteries.

So on one hand, battery replacement in a Prius is neither as simple nor as inexpensive as replacing the battery in a conventional car. But on the other, once the job is done, a replacement battery pack should be capable of delivering many more miles of the clean, efficient transportation owners have come to expect from their Priuses.

Nissan GT-R Spec-V Specs Leaked

Nissan GT-R Spec-V Specs Leaked
The guys over at GT-R Blog have their hooks deep into everything about the Nissan GT-R (obviously). So it’s no surprise they were able to get their hands on some of the specs for the upcoming Spec V edition of the Japanese supercar.
Nissan GT-R Spec-V Specs Leaked

The biggest upgrades to the car seem to be weight savings mostly through carbon fiber parts and the deletion of the back seat. It also features overboost button for increased midrange boost during passing. No engine upgrade has been confirmed. As reported last month, in 2009 all GT-Rs will get five more horsepower, for a total of 485 — well, that’s official numbers.

It seems that although Nissan has pulled out of the January’s North American Auto Show in Detroit, it will use the GT-R Spec V to generate some news in its absence. The Spec V is expected to be officially revealed on January 8th, most likely in Japan.

Detroit Preview: Fisker Karma
Just one short year after Fisker showed us its plug-in hybrid Karma show car at the "Detroit Auto Show", the house that Henrik built will be returning to the Motor City to debut the production version of its ambitious project. Fisker says the production model, which is shown in the post just-released official pic, will only vary slightly in design from the show car, including a different upper grille that's a bit larger towards the outer edges and a larger lower air intake. The exhaust pipe from the internal combustion engine will also exit from an odd place: behind the front wheels. We'll also get our first view of the Karma's production interior in Detroit next month.

Fisker announced last month that it had chosen General Motors' turbocharged, direct-inject 2.0L four-cylinder as its power source of choice, and after sampling the engine in the Chevy Cobalt SS Turbo, we're very eager to see what it will do in a hybrid set-up designed to make one very large luxury saloon move like the wind. Combined with the hybrid system's 22.6 kWh electric motor, the drivetrain as a whole is said to produce 408 horsepower and propel the car to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds and onto to a top speed of 125 mph. What sounded like vaporware 365 days ago is starting to take form, and we'll be on hand in Detroit next month to bring you more.Detroit Preview: Fisker Karma

Porsche Panamera Tuned by 9ff and Russian firm's Top Car and Cardi

Porsche Panamera Tuned by 9ff and Russian firm
Our Russian friends over at Cardesign have sent us a new set of sketches depicting one of the first tuning proposals for the just revealed Porsche Panamera sports sedan. Although it was initially believed that 9ff was the only one company working on the Panamera, turns out that the German tuner has also joined forces with two Russian companies, called "Top-Car" and "Cardi". The role of each firm in the tuning project is defined as "Top Car" who will handle the design, Cardi the production of the bodykit parts and 9ff, the performance upgrades.
Porsche Panamera Tuned by 9ff and Russian firm
This isn't the first time that the three tuning firms have collaborated on a Porsche project as last year they introduced the Cayenne-based Vantage GTR.

According to the folks at Cardesign, Top Car has designed two distinctive bodykits for the Panamera. The complete kit replaces every external body panel aside from the rooftop while the second package adds new front and rear bumpers, side skirts and a restyled bonnet. In both cases, the visual upgrades are rounded off with a set of newly designed alloy wheels. 9ff has not disclosed any details about the mechanical upgrades it is preparing for the Panamera.

It remains unclear whether or not the Panamera project will be offered exclusively by Top-Car and/or by 9ff.

2009 Maserati Gran Turismo MC Sport Line

2009 Maserati Gran Turismo MC Sport Line
Looks like Maserati is getting into some territory usually reserved for the customizers when it unveiled a new special edition at the Bologna Auto Show, the MC Sport Line. Starting with a GranTurismo S, Maserati adds front and rear carbon-fiber spoilers, side skirts with a matte black central panel, carbon fiber mirror housings and exterior door handles, and glossy black 20" wheel rims.

Maserati also added performance enhancing elements. The suspension has been upgraded to stiffer springs, shock absorbers and anti-roll bars. There’s also new software for Maserati’s Stability Program, which the company says allows the driver "more freedom".

Because this comes directly from Maserati everything is done in good taste. This makes it a much harder sell for some of the custom jobs out there. Although this MC Sport Line is based on the GranTurismo S, Maserati says it will bring the Sport Line features to the GranTurismo and then the entire Maserati line-up in 2009.

Cayman vs. 911

Cayman vs. 911

Cayman vs. 911
I’ve just been driving the new Porsche Cayman S - the one with the new direct-injection engine and the limited-slip diff, the one that’ll now hit 60mph in just 4.9 seconds - out in Spain.

We’ll have a proper in-depth review soon, but for now, here’s what you need to know: it’s unbelievably, unbelievably good - brutally quick, completely useable and just a tiny bit unhinged.

No, the Cayman isn’t a friendly point-and-go sort of car: it makes you drive it properly. Stand on the brakes mid-corner and it’ll happily deposit you into a hedge, but take some time to get to grips with the mid-engined manners and it’s just magically, stunningly good to drive. One of the best ever, I reckon, especially if you get the manual rather than the double-clutch PDK gearbox.

In fact, the Cayman S is so savagely quick - the direct injection gives astonishingly sharp throttle response - and so pure in its handling that I’d take one over a 911 Carrera. No question.

But here’s where I need your help. The guys at Porsche are saying that - despite the general consensus that the Cayman S is now as quick as the Carrera over just about any sort of road - they’re not worried that potential customers might choose it over a 911. Different markets, different people, they say - while they admit the gap between the two ranges has tightened, people considering a 911 won’t look twice at a Cayman.

So what do you think - is Porsche right? Is the 911 just too iconic to make you ever think about a Cayman, no matter how fast? Or would you stoop just a little for a car as good as this?Cayman vs. 911

The Detroit Ballout is Not Over

The Detroit Ballout is Not Over
All of Detroit is safe until after the auto show in January, sorta. The government approved $13.4 billion in loans for General Motors and Chrysler for immediate consumption (Ford said “no thanks” for now.) This will take them until February when another $4 billion may be available, but they will also have to show that their operations are able to show "positive net present value" – a tough goal I’ll get to in a moment.
The Detroit Ballout is Not Over

This means at least when the North American International Auto Show hits Detroit in January, at least the Big Three won’t have to ring the Salvation Army bell, and instead they will be able to somewhat focus on products. But this isn’t the end of the fight, the big picture has four elements still to come:

There will be more layoffs
There will be more money needed pumped into the industry
It’s the end of fun new cars
The winner will be the one who returns to big cars first

So for this week, after the just I present a little accounting, a healthy dose of skepticism, and just enough optimism to keep fans of American cars from jumping out the window.

So who turns road cars into race cars and then back into a road car? Well thats Reiter Engineering for you, who recently built a street-legal variant of their Murcielago R-GT that competes in the FIA GT1 and European Le Mans Series, is now offering a road version of their Gallardo GT3 racecar.

Based on the standard Gallardo this one features carbon fiber body work wich widens the car by 60 mm. A single large center-mounted exhaust system reduces weight by nine kg and added an extra ten horsepower, while new three-piece alloy wheels are wrapped with ultra sticky Michelin Pilot Sport 2 rubber. The interior stays relatively stock, although the stock seats have been replaced with leather-covered racing units. I can't say more about this car but that it is one of the cleanest/sickest Lambo's I've ever seen.Reiter Engineers Gallardo GT3 Strada
